The Land Team

We can’t get to the start line without a huge amount of help, experience and input from professionals.

Ocean Trainer

Inshore rowing and offshore passage making have come together for me now, thanks to Julie and my recruitment to the land team of the Transatlantic Trio. I've been a competitive oarsman since 1982 and have coached rowing since '89 at five clubs over the years. I'm now the men's senior squad coach at Nottingham & Union R.C. . Being a former professional sailor of ten years also gives me first hand knowledge of the rigours and pleasures of life afloat beyond the sight of land. My sailing has taken me across the Atlantic ten times and I have the Yachtmaster Ocean ticket and 80,000 Nm in my logbook.

This is a tremendous project for all involved and I'm delighted to be a part of this dynamic ( and record setting ? ) team. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors we can create a once in a lifetime opportunity to support the Blood Bikes and hopefully inspire others to follow in the Trio's wake !

Nutritionist and Fitness

I’m Emily Whitehead and I'm helping The Transatlantic Trio with their nutrition for the Atlantic row and training. I will also be advising on their fitness plans. I am a certified sports nutritionist and personal trainer. I have worked with a plethora of client’s ranging from recreational athletes to professional sportspeople. I also do a spot on writing and I have been featured in magazines such as OK!, Outdoor Fitness, Women’s Running, Top Sante and many more talking about nutrition and fitness. I am also a Senior Associate Member of the Royal Society of Medicine. When I am not working, I enjoy sailing and running on the moors.

Videographer & Drone Pilot

The Transatlantic Trio found me through the BNI network. I thought it was an ideal opportunity to develop my video skills on the ground to complement the drone work with my new business which I set up in June 2018 which focuses on providing drone services to the industrial and commercial sectors.
I love what I do and this is so different to what I normally do on a day to day basis so it's fun, exciting and for amazing causes with the Blood bike charities too.
I live at home with my amazing partner Michelle and two Labradoodle's, Ruby and Barry (both girls). I enjoy gaming, airsoft, fishing and of course flying drones as it was a hobby before I got my commercial licence.
